Designed for significant difference, we create and carryout exercise programs (prescription) to reduce the chance of disease and premature death as we age. Physical activity is associated with 35% risk reduction for cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and 33% risk reduction for all-cause mortality. A major contributor to diseases for example is hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes, which are increasingly prevalent in New Zealand. Physical activity and exercise are inversely related to both, the more correct exercise you do the lower the risk. With advanced technologies to monitor your exercise including blood pressure, heart (ECG), vascular health for example. We provide clinically monitored exercise programs and reported metrics of health improvement in person or with a Phone app that assists program adherence.

In addition to changes in blood lipids, our sedentary society can cause poor arterial health that can lead to cardiovascular disease. We test the effectiveness of your arteries to accommodate pressure changes non-invasively using gold standard ambulatory 24hour BP monitoring and arterial stiffness measurement (Pulse Wave Velocity) with and without exercise stressors. Both measures are powerful predictors of the risk of developing, cardiovascular, heart and or kidney disease. What’s your risk ?

We screen for ECG and HRV abnormalities using sub-maximal exercise tests and holtered monitoring over long periods of time, if necessary 7 days. Screening of single 5 or 12 lead traces along with AI artefact detection (99.8 % accurate) can provide assurance that you are able to exercise safely, reports are sent to GPs and other health providers on request.

A sedentary lifestyle and aging can be associated not only with declines in cardiorespiratory function, but also frailty. In seniors this may result in an impaired capacity to maintain independent functioning and reduces life quality. We help you avoid this and use the latest European and Australasian technologies to electronically measure and monitor your balance, flexibility, walking patterns (gait), muscle and strength to help design programs to overcome weaknesses. We also assist with rehabilitation and or produce data or other health professionals such as physios to OT’s and nutritionists to get you in tip top shape.

Spirometry can be done in a doctor’s office or in the comfort of your own home.
Our equipment is the latest that has adherence to the latest international guidelines including ATS Interpretation 2021, ATS Spirometry 2019, ATS DLCO 2017.
We also offer standardised Walk Tests known also as 6 minute or 6MWT, Endurance-Shuttle Walk Tests (E-SWT), Intermittent SWT and Titration tests. Using plethysmographic pulse oximetry we are able to create perfusion Indexes for each SpO2 value and measure your pulmonary health and fitness.

Get some confidence in things that are close to your heart
We aim to provide exercise prescription and non-invasive screening of key physiological variables that are engaged when you exercise. We provide avoidable ECG, vascular (artery age tests both central and peripheral), blood pressure and cardiopulmonary fitness testing with and without exercise stress to assess your overall cardiovascular wellbeing. This is sometime useful pre-operatively to screen for good outcomes. The aim of these measures is also to give you confidence in the exercise you are undertaking or about to undertake, is suitable for you and is making a difference to your health and wellbeing.
Let’s check the activities you work on together
We aim to provide exercise prescription that is tailored to those with or want to avoid chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular, metabolic, heart and kidney disease and also oncology patients. We focus on monitored exercise that uses technology to ensure heart, blood pressure, strength, joint range of motion and gait are aligned and safe. Your other significant health professional may recommend exercise to ensure that you take advantage of the benefits it provides in improving your health and wellbeing. We are happy to work with them to ensure your best outcome.
